Abstract

The personnel at the regional Danish emergency call centers are highly trained to assess the precise need for assistance. According to such an assessment, the staff at the call center make sure that an ambulance is sent immediately. In addition, if necessary, an emergency doctor's car is also dispatched to ensure that specialized treatment can commence already before arriving at the hospital. The request of an emergency doctor's car can be canceled by the ambulance paramedics but in some cases the paramedics are not able to exactly assess the situation so that the emergency doctor's car arrives despite it being unneeded. In order to address those situations, we propose a video streaming solution that facilitates dialogues between ambulance paramedics and the doctor on the emergency car.
