Abstract

Abstract Trilobites, articulate and inarticulate brachiopods, molluscs, and trace fossils have been found at several localities in rocks of the Bowers Group. Faunas represent theMiddle Cambrian (Leiopyge laevigata Zone), early Late Carnbrian (upper Mindyallan and Idamean Stages), and middle or late Late Cambrian. They indicate that the Bowers Group, as here defined, ranges in age from Middle Cambrian to late Late Cambrian or Ordovician, and that a significant unconformity probably separates two major sequences and lies between Mariner Formation and Camp Ridge Quartzite.
