Abstract

This article addresses the issue of training law students and attorneys in the most effective manner of using computer aided legal research tools. It is based on the premise that computer aided research will not be effective if the researcher does not understand the strengths and limitations of computer searching or the nature of research in general. This article provides an in-depth analysis of these points and then builds on the analysis to develop appropriate research strategies for using cornputerized research tools. In writing this article, significant consideration was given to the research methods suggested by Cohen and Berring as well as those suggested by Wren and Wren.
