Abstract

Regional studies in Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf region indicate that the uppermost Jurassic and the lowermost Cretaceous succession (Makhul, Minagish and Ratawi formations) can be subdivided into five calpionellid zones. These zones are comparable to the well-established zones of the trans-Tethyan region in Iran, Iraq, the Western Mediterranean province, and other localities.
