Abstract
The heat capacity of 3He adsorbed on one-dimensional pores, 18 Å in diameter and sub-micrometer in length, was measured down to 10 mK as a function of coverage. The heat capacity isotherm of 3He shows a kink at a coverage of n 0 which is equal to the inert layer coverage, at which onset of superfluidity occurs in 4He. To examine the state of 3He above n 0 we precoated 4He on the 18 Å pores. The heat capacity of 3He on the precoated pores is proportional to temperature. The result shows that 3He becomes a degenerate Fermi liquid or a Luttinger liquid.
