Abstract
Low-temperature calorimetric measurements show an antiferromagnetic ordering of ${\mathrm{Yb}}^{+3}$ in ytterbium sesquioxide. The well-defined N\'eel temperature of 2.3 K is corroborated by magnetic susceptibility data. Entropy associated with this ordering process is close to Rln2 as expected for a ground-state doublet, even though there are two nonequivalent cation sites in the cubic crystal.
