Abstract

ABSTRACT Calorimetric titration studies of carbendazim and thiabendazole solutions with α-cyclodextrin solutions were performed. The study involved the determination stoichiometry of the resulting inclusion complexes, their formation constant values and thermodynamic parameters (molar enthalpy and molar entropy) characterising the ligand-receptor complexes. The ITC calorimetric measurements were supplemented with UV–VIS spectroscopic measurements to determine the increase in the water solubility of test fungicides in the presence of increasing concentration of α-cyclodextrin.
