Summary
We invite you to the special issue of EPS for the great Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, in Sichuan Province of southwest China, one of the most devastating earthquakes in Asia since recent years. The special issue welcomes any papers related to this event as well as its aftershock sequence. Since this event is closely related to previous seismic activities in the north-south seismic zone in west China and the interaction between Indian and Eurasian plates, studies on the events in the past in this region as well as the geodynamics and geophysics of the Indian-Eurasian plate boundary will be included.
