The project is to have 10 or 12 papers, each about 10 manuscript pages long, that do the following: 1. Briefly describe the current practices for training PhD psychologists in your country, including selection processes, the types and amount of required courses, examination procedures, forms of research supervision expected duration of studies, the gross proportion of students who finish successfully, etc.2. Criticisms of the PhD program in your country, including accessibility, selection, funding, research supervision, type, quality and quantity of courses, quality of preparations relative to career opportunities, etc.3. Concrete suggestions for improving the doctoral training of psychologists, including discussion of how the inertia of administrative practices and academic traditions might be overcome. The papers must be written in English. They may be coauthored. The authors could be senior scholars or departmental leaders, or they could be very junior scholars who have only recently finished their doctoral studies. We are looking for descriptive clarity, for opinionated criticisms, and for realistic suggestions for improvement. Professor Larsson and myself will be the editorial review panel recommending changes in manuscripts and deciding on final acceptance. Anyone interested in joining this project should first contact Floyd Rudmin.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Volume 5Issue 3September 2000ISSN: 1016-9040eISSN: 1878-531X InformationEuropean Psychologist (2000), 5, pp. 258-258 https://doi.org/10.1027//1016-9040.5.3.258.© 2000Hogrefe & Huber PublishersPDF download
