Mass spectra of monometallic and bimetallic ruthenium(II) complexes were recorded using a 252Cf time-of-flight mass spectrometer. They proved to be useful for obtaining structural information relating to these complexes. Moreover, they confirmed the nature of the environment around the metal center.
