Abstract

California's behavioral health workforce crisis has become so dire that it will require comprehensive solutions combining immediate‐ and longer‐term measures, concludes the drafters of ambitious new state legislation. The bill, introduced in the state Senate earlier this month, would establish a fund to offset raids on the ranks of behavioral health professionals from other health care disciplines.
