Abstract

Calculations of temperature and thermo-elastic displacement distributions generated by laser-ultrasonic inspection system are performed. The goal is to determine temperature distributions created in the test objects by generation laser and the respective thermo-elastic displacement distributions causing the ultrasonic waves propagating within the test objects during laser-ultrasonic inspection of parts. The respective heat propagation equation and thermo-elastic equation of motion are solved analytically for 1D and 3D test objects with different geometries.
