Abstract
The ion transport induced by the spatial and/or temporal variation of an electric field in gases is studied. Expressions for the corresponding transport coefficients in gas mixtures are obtained from the momentum-transfer theory and are given in terms of the coefficients in the pure component gases. The obtained results are used to calculate the considered transport coefficients for Na+ ions in an He–Ne mixture and their deviation from Blanc's law.
