Abstract
Dimensional Analysis technique have been applied on very wide range of applications in fluid mechanics, particularly in investigations of turbulent flow. Recently, these techniques are being used in the high voltage engineering for contamination studies on the insulator surface. In this paper, the time to flashover of contaminated insulator has been computed using a Dimensional Analysis technique. The calculated times to flashover are compared with the experimental results and found to be in close agreement.
