Abstract

An expression is derived for the calculation of the rotational power loss in electrical steel laminations, i.e., the iron loss associated with the torque caused by the angle of lag between H and B. It is shown that for a nonpurely rotating flux density, i.e., noncircular flux density loci, the instantaneous angular velocity of the flux density vector can vary substantially during a cycle, and must be accounted for in the calculation. >
