Abstract
1. An accurate calculation has been carried out of the relationship between the stationary concentrations of the radicals R and RO2 and the oxygen concentration for the stage of formation of hydroperoxide in the oxidation of hydrocarbons. 2. The results of the accurate and approximate calculations have been compared. The log chain approximation gives a useable accuracy for chains of only a few steps. 3. A method is given for calculating the relationship between the radical concentrations and the oxygen concentration for short chains.
