Abstract

The quasi-particle transmission TNS and reflection RNS probabilities across arbitrary potential barriers were calculated from the first principles using the Bogoliubov equations of motion. For the normal-metal/ rectangle-potential-barrier/superconductor (N/I/S) structure under biasing conditions, TNS and RNS were computed as functions of quasi-particle energy, and potential barrier height and width.
