Abstract

The personal dose equivalent, H p (10), was calculated in the anthropomorphic MIRD phantom. H p (10) is compared with the primarily limited quantities, the effective dose, E, and the effective dose equivalent, H E , computed in the same Monte Carlo run. The operational quantity, H sl (10), in the ICRU slab was found to approximate H p (10) for multidirectional incidences. All quantities were obtained with the same database. Also the correlation with the organ dose equivalents in the testes and thymus are given graphically. The dependence of H p (10) on the location in the trunk is discussed briefly.
