Abstract
The article deals with the calculation method of calibration of railway tanks. The article gives a formula for calculating the volume of a filled part of the ball segment. As an example of using this formula, the calculation of the volume of the filled part of a horizontal cylindrical container with sidewalls in the form of ball segments is proposed. The resulting formula can be useful for composing computer programs that calculate the volume depending on the filling level of cylindrical containers. This formula can also be used to compile and refine the calibration tables of railway tanks.
