Abstract

AbstractNumerical calculations of the electronic energy spectrum of liquid alkali metals — the simplest amorphous conductors — are performed by Kohn's variational method, which was modified for amorphous conductors by one of the authors. Experimental binary atomic distribution functions are used. Diagrams are given for the electronic energy as a function of the average phase difference between neighbouring atoms.
