Calculation of the carbon‐13 chemical shifts of the methylene carbons of meso and racemic 2,4‐dimethoxypentanes as model compounds of poly(vinyl methyl ether)

Abstract

AbstractThe 13C chemical shifts of the methylene carbons of meso and racemic 2,4‐dimethoxypentanes were calculated by the CNDO/2 method. The results were in fairly well accordance with the experimental results of poly(vinyl methyl ether). The cis form of the side chain was more stable than the trans form.
