Abstract

Aiming at the propagation of high frequency radio waves in the ionosphere, this paper studies the influence of geomagnetic field on it. Under the influence of geomagnetic field, the ionosphere will show anisotropic characteristics, which will affect the propagation of short wave in it. In this paper, the ionosphere is regarded as an anisotropic layered medium, and a transfer matrix method is proposed to calculate the propagation of high-frequency radio waves in complex anisotropic layered media, that is, the ionosphere propagation of short wave under the influence of geomagnetic field. The results show that under the influence of geomagnetic field, the propagation of high frequency radio waves in ionosphere is obviously different from that in isotropic case.
