Abstract

The photon-pion-nucleon system is studied by a non-perturbative approximation method based on the truncation of covariant Green functions in field theory. The prescription of spectral representations is used to incorporate correct analyticity requirements. The anomalous magnetic moments and mean square charge radii of the nucleon calculated by this approximation method are an improvement over perturbation theory. The results are compared with those of dispersion theory.
