Abstract

We report a comparison of the thermodynamic model of multiparticle production with experimental data K +p → K o + anything and K −+ p → K o + anything at 8.2 and 10.1 GeV c . Using the same velocity weight function F o( λ) for through-going particles as determined from inclusive single particle spectra in p - p collisions we find a remarkable agreement of the thermodynamic K o - spectra with data in the fragmentation region and with respect to themissing mass dependence of the momentum transfer distributions. It is furthermore found that with respect to the production of through-going particles the isospin is conserved as locally as baryob number and strangeness. This behaviour explains the observation that the mayority of the K o in the fragmentation region is produced via resonances.
