Abstract

Parabolic graded multilayer mirrors used as condensing optics increase the intensity throughput of laboratory high-resolution XRD systems. The x-ray source size and the figure error must be considered in real systems. An expression given by Gutman and Verman can be used to estimate source size effects. Recent measurements show the improvement of the mirror fabrication with respect to figure errors. The errata given in this paper corrects a `factor of two error' which appeared in our original paper.
