Abstract

A computational modification of the Heidemann-Khalil method for calculating the critical temperatures and pressures for general phase-equilibrium problems greatly reduced the computing time for simple two-constant cubic equations of state. For systems where the unlike binary interaction parameters can be derived from the pure-component parameters using the geometric mean values, a further simplification lowers the computing times to a few milliseconds, regardless of the number of components.
