Abstract

A quasistatic model for coplanar waveguide (CPW) including conductor loss has been developed. The CPW is conformally-mapped into a parallel plate configuration, where conductor loss is evaluated using a conductor surface impedance which is scaled by the conformal map. Both skin depth and current crowding in the CPW are accounted for. Comparison between experimental measurements on lowloss dielectric substrates and this model show excellent agreement.
