Abstract

Abstract To extract the maximum quality results from shipborne acoustic Doppler current profiler data, it is necessary to know how the beams are aligned with respect to the earth. Individual beam velocities, relative to the water or the bottom, have been used to estimate the rotation of the transducer relative to the ship and the pitch offset of the transducer. Individual beam bottom-track ranges can be used to make an independent estimate of pitch offset and an estimate of the roll offset.
