Abstract

In this paper, based on the charge simulation method and the three-dimensional flux tracing method, the distribution of the ion flow field at the ground level near ±500kV HVDC transmission tower as well as the impacts of transmission tower on the electric field is analyzed. In the calculation, the actual structure of power transmission tower and the catenary equation of transmission lines are considered. The influence of the tower on the nominal electric field on the surface of the split conductor is discussed, and then the distribution of the ion flow field is further analyzed. The calculated results show that the influence of the tower on the nominal electric field of the sub-conductor surface at different positions is different, and there is certain shielding effect of transmission tower on the ion flow field at the ground level nearby the tower. Then comparing with the results without tower, the influence scope of the tower on the ion flow field is defined and analyzed.
