Abstract
The response of the NM-64 cosmic ray monitors at Deep River, Alert, Goose Bay, and Inuvik to solar modulation of galactic cosmic rays has been calculated using the force field approximation to transport through the interplanetary medium. Count rates (to within 2%) normalized to the rates observed in mid-1965 are given in terms of the energy lost per unit charge (the modulating potential) of galactic cosmic rays reaching the earth-' orbit. The purpose of this calculation is to allow the inference of the primary spectrum at the earth's orbit simply from a knowledge of the neutron monitor count rates. (auth)
