Abstract

Based on the calculate analysis of shear-resistance stability of various asphalt mixtures for composite pavement with thin asphalt-cement concrete purpose during slow braking and emergency braking and anti-shear sliding stability test between asphalt and cement concrete, the shear resistance, characteristics and damage types of different types of asphalt mixtures in such pavement structure as well as the bond properties between different cement concrete surface cleanliness, strength, roughness and different asphalt binder materials were studied in this paper. The research result not only reveals that AR-AC13 and SMA-13, the broken gradation of modified asphalt with big viscosity and coarse aggregate, are the ideal asphalt mixture of such structure, but also indicates that the cement concrete surface should be clean and dry with good cleanliness as well as certain roughness and strength, and the concrete surface should be roughening treated through transverse groove or milling planer. Furthermore, rubber asphalt is proved to be the interlayer bonding material with ideal performance and price.
