Abstract
Summary Caesium cation toxicity observed previously in light- and dark-germinated tomato seedlings Lycopersicon esculentum L.) without calcium cation supplementation in the germination media was also observed here in tomato seedlings germinated in light and dark environments on mixtures of caesium and calcium cations. This non-amelioration of caesium cation-induced toxicity by externally supplied calcium cations in light- and dark- germinated tomato seedlings was evident in five cultivars, thus demonstrating that this phenomenon was not cultivar specific.
