Abstract
Appropriate patient selection and pre-procedure evaluation remains a crucial step before transradial cardiac catheterization. There are arguments both for and against routine clinical testing of collateral hand circulation before arterial cannulation and other additional techniques have been proposed to improve procedural success [1]. We present an uncommon cause of radial access failure that can be easily predicted and prevented inside the catheterization laboratory.
