Abstract

It is fitting that a topic of such fundamental importance as caesarean sections should have been a topic of discussion at a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Maternity on December 2003. At this meeting representatives of the Royal College of Midwives (Clare Capito), the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Professor James Walker), and the National Childbirth Trust (Mary Newburn) commented on the final draft of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) Caesarean Section Guidelines (2003). The presentations were followed by a discussion that included the audience.
