Abstract
Some geographical data on Sweden is given to set the Swedish legal survey work in proper perspective. Land survey in Sweden as a state organization dates back to 1628. Through the centuries there have been many changes; the most recent reorganization of Swedish cadastre was in 1960. The education of chartered surveyors and of auxiliary personnel, the land registry system, and surveying procedures and techniques are described.
