Abstract

AbstractThe dimethylammonium chloride adduct hydrate of cyameluric acid was obtained by slow hydrolytic decomposition of cyameluric chloride C6N7Cl3 dissolved in N,N‐dimethylformamide. Single crystals of C6N7H3O3·H2N(CH3)2Cl·H2O have been obtained after evaporation of the solvent. The structure has been determined by single‐crystal XRD (P 21/c, a = 6.0908(12), b = 22.710(5), c = 9.821(2) Å, β = 105.63(3)°, V = 1308.2(5) Å3, Z = 4, T = 130 K). In the solid, only the all‐keto tautomere of cyameluric acid occurs. The molecular entities are interconnected by an extensive hydrogen bonding network. Vibrational and thermal properties of the compound have been investigated.
