Abstract

Sign languages are visual language and its grammatical phenomena are often represented in space not as in the vocal languages. Prosodic elements are sometimes visualized. Emotions and intensions are visualized, too. The prosodic elements in sign languages named Non-Manual Signals such as facial expressions, postures or other body movements behave as those prosodies in vocal languages. Moreover speed and qualification of movements in the verbs function as adverbs, derivation, aspects and other syntactic phenomena.
