Abstract

It is shown experimentally that the Cd-ion laser may work with a mixture of He-Ne. It is found that with He : Ne = 10 : 1 the output power at 4416 Å is about 25% greater than with pure He. When the He : Ne ratio is within the range from 5 : 1 to 15 : 1 the laser may generate at 4416 Å or at 6328 Å respectively, in the same gas discharge tube.
