Abstract

Objective: To evaluate some morphological characteristics of upper eyelid anthropometry in Vietnamese female students aged 18- Participants and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 352 Vietnamese female students aged 18-23 at Hanoi Medical University and Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Research period from September 2016-February 2018. Results: Among 704 eyes, the proportion of single eyelids: 112 eyes (15.9%); double eyelids: 483 eyes (68.6%); eyes with incomplete crease: 73 eyes (10.4%) and eyes with multiple creases: 36 (5.1%). Classification of double eyelid phenotypes included 4 types: Nasally tapered in: 297 eyes (61.5%); Parallel: 116 eyes (24.0%); laterally arched: 19 eyes (3.9%) and semilunar: 51 eyes (10.6%). Conclusion: The morphology of the eyelid folds on the double eyelids was the most common, and the most common type of double eyelids was the nasally tapered.
