Abstract
BVA Council is the Association's highest representative body, advising on matters of veterinary policy and acting as its key debating chamber. However, its composition and function have not been reviewed in 20 years, so, in April 2008, its members agreed to establish a Council Review Group (CRG). The group's members were elected from the Council, and their aim was to ensure that the representational function of the BVA, as delivered through the Council, was fit for purpose to meet the needs of the profession from grass roots level.
