Abstract

Anterolateral projection of the middle third of the face is controlled by the position of the zygoma. Traumatic displacement of the zygomatic complex can cause restricted mouth opening, orbital symptoms, and invariably, facial asymmetry, so primary reduction is necessary to re-establish symmetry.
