Abstract

This paper presents a burst loss rate (BLR) differentiation scheme for optical burst switching (OBS) network. An analytical model for the burst loss rate of the differentiation scheme is presented for different service classes. The effect of number of wavelengths is examined on the burst loss rate of two different service classes. An algorithm is also developed to calculate the number of wavelengths for each service classes in different scenarios.
