Abstract
Two fraction dust-air mixture is a simplest case of polydisperse suspension. So the purpose of this work is to study the characteristics of ignition and combustion of a two-fraction suspension of carbon particles in air at different temperatures. The main characteristics of fuels combustion are the ignition delay, the burning temperature and time, critical parameters (temperature, the particles diameters and mass concentrations), corresponding to fuel ignition and extinction. The high temperature heat and mass transfer and chemical kinetics are modeled for two-fraction gas suspension (diameter of fine particles 60 μm and that of coarse particles 120 μm).
