Abstract

Buried Late Holocene soils have been found in sandy deposits within the eastern part of the Bol’shezemel’skaya tundra in the Vorkuta River basin. The morphology of their profiles and the physicochemical characteristics of these soils make it possible to classify them as soddy podzols. In the upper part of the sandy deposits exposed to the surface, the profiles of recent podburs with a weakly differentiated profile have been formed.
