Abstract

A randomized trial has found that combining slow‐release bupropion (bupropion SR) with a financial incentive program was not more effective than placebo plus the incentive program in reducing cocaine use in patients with cocaine use disorder who also were receiving treatment for opioid use disorder. A subgroup of participants who had achieved abstinence early in the trial maintained high abstinence rates over the course of the study regardless of whether they were receiving bupropion or placebo.
