BUPRENORPHINE WAIVER TRAINING: PREPARING CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRISTS TO TREAT OPIOID USE DISORDERS

Abstract

This Workshop will prepare child and adolescent psychiatrists to integrate buprenorphine into their practice by providing the necessary training to apply for a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) waiver to prescribe buprenorphine to more than 30 patients. The Workshop will specifically emphasize implementation with discussions around solutions to commonly identified barriers to buprenorphine prescribing, and linkage to resources for future free mentorship through the Provider Clinical Support System (funded by SAMHSA).
