Abstract

A recent “secret shopper” study (a three paragraph research letter, actually) has found that only one in four residential treatment centers which treat opioid use disorder (OUD) in adolescents offer buprenorphine. According to the study, which is based on calls made to treatment centers listed on the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) “treatment locator” website, these centers simply do not offer buprenorphine to adolescents.
