Abstract

Prominent results of parametric studies on conjugate mixed convection with surface radiation from a vertical channel flush-mounted with multiple non-identical discrete heat sources are presented. The fluid flow and heat transfer equations, without boundary layer approximations and without the assumption of fully-developed flow, are converted to vorticity-stream function form and then solved using finite volume method. A computer code is exclusively written for the purpose. The effects of aspect ratio, surface emissivity and modified Richardson number on salient results concerning the problem are probed into. The gross errors that creep in due to inadvertent omission of radiation are clearly explored.
