Abstract

At the SPring-8 compact SASE source (SCSS), a high-quality beam with high peak current and low emittance should be supplied to saturate the SASE mode within a 22.5 m long undulator. In this paper, we describe the design concepts of an SCSS bunch compressor and the manner in which the CSR-induced emittance growth can be reduced in the bunch compressor.
