Abstract

Not the least important problem confronting the profession of radiology to-day is the question of the status and domain of the lay technician in radiological practice. It is a question which arises again and again, in one phase or another, as the Inter-Society Committee approaches professional and socio-economic situations in various sections of the country. It is a question which urgently demands solution. A recent article by Albert A. Rayle, M.D., a portion of which is reprinted herewith by permission of the Journal of the Medical Association of Georgia, states the problem in clear fashion. In connection with Dr. Rayle's straight-forward comments, it is interesting to compare an article in a similar vein written more than ten years ago by the present Chairman of the Inter-Society Committee for Radiology, Arthur C.
